Weaving ships

Photo and weave series, a portrait of degeneration.

Textiles woven on ARM-loom and countermarch loom. Made in paper yarns, wool and shrink yarns, and post process with burn-out print and mechanical manipulation.

The series focuses on old ships on land and how the ocean, the weather and the hand erode and crumble away the ship surfaces over time. Revealing the layers, colors and construction and creating a new structured surface.

the rain
and wind erode
the surface will crumble
the hand
will peal away
revealing the layers
full of new structures
and colours//
